  What is networking?  
 
"Networking," derived from the phrase "Old Boy Network," is the process of broadcasting your skills to an ever-expanding group of friends and acquaintances in order to locate hidden opportunities circulated only through word-of-mouth or created specifically for a specific person or skill set.

Networking continues to be the most effective method of obtaining career advancement and career security in both good times and bad.

  
  What Is The Instant Network?  :
 
The Instant Network is an internet-based career contact and job referral networking service for members only.
The Instant Network was first conceived in 1990 when the nation, and specifically the Northeast, was suffering from severe structural unemployment. It has now been reincarnated as a state-of-the-art tool to enhance your career and the careers of other members, through networking with those best suited to help.

Membership in The Instant Network provides both immediate access and ready introduction to a targeted network of associates that you know are in your specific field of interest and can lead you to your perfect job before anyone else learns about it.

Members can use this targeted network to meet people to add value to their lives, both personally and professionally. Meet the person to help solve a problem that's been bugging you at work, or at home. Meet the person who knows of, or can create for you, that ideal job. Meet the people to start, or help start that entrepreneurial idea you have. Or meet that person your company needs to meet to land that next big deal.

"How do you meet people?" The Instant Network is the answer.

  
  Who is The Instant Network?  
 
The Instant Network is you, your friends, your family, your colleagues, your acquaintances. It is also their friends, their families, their colleagues, their acquaintances, and the friends, families, colleageus and acquaintances of those people, etc., etc., etc. Everyone who is a member is instantly added to your network of contacts by nature of your membership, and they are multiplied by their own individual friends, family and contacts who may not yet be members.

Members may be employed or unemployed individuals who may or may not be seeking employment. Other members might be various support groups, government agencies or personnel, corporations or any other entity involved in career advancement or employment as deemed by the Network Administrator.
 
  What can I expect from The Instant Network?  
 
In the simplest case, you can expect easy and rapid access to information, help and guidance on matters as diverse as the membership.

You can expect that information to be delivered professionally and courteously.

Contacts made through The Instant Network can be of a personal or professional nature, discussing private career issues between members or job openings to all members.

  
  What can my company expect from The Instant Network?  
 
If you are the member, your company can expect you to be able to tackle and solve tough problems that might otherwise be beyond your experience by accessing capabilities or knowledge in almost any area within or beyond your specific field. Imagine being noticed by the higher-ups for solving that sticky problem no one else in the company dare approach. By using your Instant Network membership, you reached out to another member who told you how to solve it. Imagine being noticed by the higher-ups for identifying and recruiting the perfect person for that hard-to-fill position?

Networking is more than finding a job. It is about career enhancement. (And that’s what you should tell your boss if he mistakenly thinks you are online job searching!)

If your company is a member, it can expect all the performance of an expensive recruiting firm, but through a low-cost, high-quality alternative.   What if something unexpected happens from using The Instant Network?  
 
The Instant Network was designed to facilitate communication between various groups of people. As such, it cannot reasonably be expected to exert complete control on that communication. Beyond notifying the Network Administrator and lodging a complaint against the offending party (which may or may not result in the offending member’s removal from the Network), or resigning, a member’s recourse in such an occurrence is limited to actions external to the Network itself. The Instant Network will comply with any requests for production of any evidence necessary for such action, but will not be party to any. Every story has three sides: yours, mine and ours. Ours view is that we only provided the mechanism by which one of you introduced themselves to the other. We have no control over or part in what happens as a result of your use of this (our) mechanism. In situations where problems arise, we will attempt to do our best to resolve or remove the problem, and prevent any reoccurrence, but can not guarantee results or satisfaction to either or any party.

Members are expected and required to act in a mature, professional and adult manner at all times. The Network Administrator, at his sole discretion, with no right of appeal and at the forfeit of all membership balances, will remove anyone who abuses the Network or his membership in any way. If any person believes the matter should be taken further, that is their option. The Instant Network shall participate in such only to the extent of supplying documentation for evidence, and not opinion.

  
  Why should I join The Instant Network?  
 
To advance your career.

Whether your career is on-track, getting on-track or off-track, networking is an invaluable tool to enhance your career or help others enhance theirs.

If you are unemployed, The Instant Network will help you find employment.

If you are struggling or dissatisifed in your present job, The Instant Network will help you locate a new position or improve the present one.

Do you love your job? The Instant Network will help you multiply that enjoyment by being able to stretch yourself or make the current tasks easier by consulting with others in your field.

Perhaps you are retired? You should still join The Instant Network to share your expertise with other and keep active in a field you were once, and perhaps still are interested in.

The entire focus of The Instant Network is to facilitate people making things better for other people in this world. Presuming you agree, join and actively participate, the $60 per year you will spend is less than one dinner out at an average restaurant, and, unlike the dinner, may be tax deductible as a legitimate employment expense.

(Note: The Instant Network is not a 501(c)(3) or non-profit organization and dues are not deductible as charitable donations.)

  
  Why should my Company join The Instant Network?  
 
Why should your Company pay 10% - 30% in recruiter fees for identical results? Why pay that much for a candidate vetted by a recruiter who may or may not fully understand the match or mismatch between job requirements and candidate's qualifications?

A better question might be why shouldn’t it join The Instant Network?

  
  I run a support group; should it join The Instant Network?  
 
Yes, because it is a free way to get the word out to a community whose members may benefit from your services and support. In addition, you, your group or your group members may benefit from contact with our members.

In each case, the code word is “Networking.”

  
  Where is The Instant Network?  
 
Anywhere you are with access to the Internet (World Wide Web and e-mail.)

To use The Instant Network, simply point your browser to http://www.theinstantnetwork.com to search for contacts and jobs (or to post jobs) and check your e-mail.

  
  How much is The Instant Network?  
 
Individual memberships are $20 per month. Renewals are due within 30 days of the member's dues account reaching a zero balance.

Members are required to post a minimum of three career opportunities each month. To incentivise posting, the posting member's dues account will be credited $5.00 per posting up to three postings per month. If a member uses the Network as intended, dues will, in effect, be reduced to $5.00 per month.

Dues for corporate memberships are $100 per month, payable yearly.

Corporate members, however, are expected to post all their opportunities and will receive the same $5 incentive for each (up to ten (10) postings per month.)

The Instant Network waives all fees and dues for support groups.

  
  What do I need to use The Instant Network?  
 
Besides having your dues paid to date, nothing more than an internet connection with access to e-mail and the World Wide Web.

No cookies, Java, Javascript, Flash, Shockwave, or other plug-in/features are used on the site, so those add-on's are unnecessary.

HOWEVER, some people use filters and other features in their web browser and/or e-mail software to limit spam and pop-up advertisements. These may present a problem with using The Instant Network. This is NOT a blanket statement, and the Network isn't sure these problems will exist or arise. In using The Instant Network, you may get e-mail from people you don’t "know" that are other members trying to contact you through the e-mail address which you posted. If your spam filter kills these messages, other members will be unable to contact you to network and you risk your membership. Conversely, when browsing the job or member lists, clicking on an entry for detailed information brings up a new browser window. If you have a pop-up preventer installed, it may prevent this action and you will be unable to see the detailed information.

As we said, we are not sure these problems even exist, but....

  How do I join The Instant Network?  
 
To join The Instant Network, review our Rules and Terms, then file your resume using our online online form.

Once the form is complete, print and mail the displayed Membership Application to the Network Administrator along with the appropriate payment.

Upon receipt of payment, the Network Administrator will e-mail you notification that your username and password has been activated for full access to the “Members” section of the web site.

After activation, the new member has fully joined The Instant Network and can see all the other member resumes and career opportunities. The site will remain accessible to the member as long as his membership dues remain current. He will enjoy full access to the complete membership and postings.

  
  When can I use The Instant Network?  
 
Anytime (24/7/365) after you have joined. (i.e., Paid your memberhip dues and registered your resume.)

  
  When can I join The Instant Network?  
 
Right NOW. Fill in and mail the application with payment; you'll be "up and running" as soon as they're received.

  
  What else do I need to know about The Instant Network?
